Traditional cusine from the Veneto region
The restaurant within Villa Ormaneto celebrates the most authentic flavours of Veneto’s rural tradition. Inside a 14th-century hunting lodge that belonged to the Scaligeri family, an elegant and cosy setting invites guests to rediscover the traditions of the Veronese lowlands.
The sequence of dishes is that of the classic Italian menu, with hors d’oeuvres, first courses, main courses and desserts, to end with the unmissable ritual of coffee and digestive liqueur. In addition to the à la carte proposals, we also include a special menu dedicated to Piatti Dimenticati (Forgotten Dishes), a journey through the true flavours of the Veneto countryside cuisine.
VI·OR menu
The menu is the outcome of a shared journey with local growers, artisans and winemakers who, just like us, care about quality and tradition. We opened our eyes to what is around us, trying to look at it with wonder and gratitude: these are places rich in history, memory, legends, folklore and traditions. It is our privilege to serve as the repositories of popular cuisine and flavours, and as the ambassadors of local excellence and tales.
The table
Our table is that of an elegant country house receiving guests on a special day: when the finest ceramics and fine fabrics are laid out and the cooking is done with the same enthusiasm of those who want to offer the best to their guests. Some of our ceramics are made by artists who have designed lines and patterns just for us, to make the experience even more unique and special.
The wine menu
Every course of the menu finds its perfect match in our wine list, also an ode to the traditions of the Veneto region. A varied territory and a favorable climate make Veneto the largest wine region in Italy, which therefore offers a wide choice of high quality wine products, reproposed on our tables to offer an authentically Venetian experience.
VI•OR preserves
The sauces and jams that accompany our dishes are so popular that our chef decided to pack them in jars for you. This is how we came up with VI-OR preserves, handmade specialities inspired by traditional recipes from the Veneto countryside - the delicious five-tomato sauce and mulberry jam are among the best-loved. With their elegant and refined packaging, our preserves are not only a great ingredient to employ in many recipes - they also make a special favour to gift to food lovers.
Awards
The VI-OR restaurant has been recognised with a Gambero Rosso fork and Teritoria’s Table Remarquable award, thus entering the selection of table remarquable by Alain Ducasse, the French multi-starred chef who collects the best restaurants in Italy.
